Politics | opinion

The Second Vice Chairman for Suame Constituency of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Richard Akwasi Asante, has advised the leadership of the yesterday's demonstration to seek repentance and forgiveness.

According to him, fabrication of lies constitutes a serious sin in the sight of God.

Speaking to the media, Mr Asante also recommended psychiatric treatment for the leaders of the demonstration dubbed " Kum Yen Preko" which occurred in Accra.

" I was surprised when l saw some former ministers and deputies on floor crying about non existing claims therefore the leaders should be mentally examined ' Mr Asante said.

Mr Asante disclosed that the claim by the demonstrators that unemployment rate has risen even calls for mental examination since any right thinking member will never assert same.

According to him, thousands of teachers were recruited by Nana Addo Administration before and during the introduction of the double track system.

He said nurses who completed training between 2012 and 2016 were jobless during the tenure of office of former President John Dramani Mahama.

According to him, government has secured financial clearance to employ such group of nurses both public and private.

" It is historic for a government to employ trained nurses from private institutions and beneficiaries are even grateful to NPP government' Mr disclosed.

He noted government has also secured employment opportunities for some professional nurses outside the country describing it as unprecedented.

Parents, he said, have been financially relieved after government introduced the free Senior High School
Policy (FSHS) adding by the nest academic years most schools will witness a single track system.

Mr Asante therefore described the demonstration as baseless and worthless hence the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) should keep quiet for Nana Addo to fix the economy which was collapsed by their incompetent administration.
