RESCIND DECISION TO CONTEST MAJORITY LEADER - Deputy Minister Tells Suame Parliamentary Aspirants

The Deputy Minister for Railways and Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, Hon Andy Appiah - Kubi has described the Majority Leader as a pillar in parliament championing the visions of the ruling New Patriotic party (NPP).

According to him, the ruling party needs to protect the seat of Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for Suame.

Addressing delegates of the party in the Suame Constituency yesterday, during the launch of the Constituency's welfare scheme, Hon Appiah-Kubi noted that ruling party will encounter problems, if the Major Leader loses his seat as a legislator in the upcoming primaries to be conducted by the party this year.

According to him, all persons aspiring for the Suame seat, should rescind their decision to enable the Minority Leader continue his tasks in parliament to help bring honour to the party.

"After contesting the late Baah Wiredu, who was Minister for Finance and Economic Planning, l later regretted when l recognised his value in the party" Hon Appiah-Kubi asserted.

According to him, the incumbent members of Parliament, really appreciate the hardwork of the Suame MP, who is the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs.

The success of Nana Addo Administration, he said, partly depends on the Majority Leader, adding the party can not risk losing such personality in governance.

"I will personally lead house-to-house campaign for Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu to win both primaries and parliamentary elections" Hon Appiah-Kubi said.

On his part, the Majority Leader, Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, described it as satisfactory the measures put in place by government to fulfill electioneering campaign promises.

According to him, government will complete most of the factories in the various districts before 2020 elections.

He said the remaining districts will witness factories at various stages of completion to help fulfill the One-District One- Factory (1D1F) promise.

Hon Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu called on Ghanaians to complement government's efforts at developing the country adding any mistake to unseat the government will pave way for National Democratic Congress (NDC) to squander the foreign reserves made by the NPP government.

An amount of Gh38, 000 was provided by the Suame MP as a seed money for the Constituency welfare scheme.
